Trotting and pacing yearlings that will go under the hammer over the weekend of 10th and 11th of April 2021.
The sale will be held at the impressive Inglis – Oakland’s Junction Complex, with horses expected to be on hand from Thursday 8th. Nutrien plans to take full advantage of the fantastic facilities and areas with a sale parade and welcome function planned for Friday 9th April.
Mark Barton, the General Manager of Nutrien Equine Standardbred, has been impressed by the industry in welcoming Nutriens entry into the harness racing sales arena. “It is a privilege to offer a catalogue of horses in one sale of this quality. We want to celebrate the event with the industry and can’t wait until April next year comes around.”
“We are impressed with the way the industry has adapted to the challenges that they have faced in recent time, it shows the resilience of the people that are involved and I think our sale event will be a great place for all to celebrate the industry and the sport of Harness Racing.”
Since the announcement of the support from Haras Des Trouters, who have underpinned the 2023 Victorian based Nutrien race series with $150,000, they have had a lot of interest in how many and what Trotting yearlings are going to be on offer. “With the support of Haras Des Troutters, we will see these trotting yearlings able to chase $125,000 as three year olds, which is really exciting for the sport and offers really good odds to buyers looking to secure a Trotting yearling from the sale” – Mr Barton said.

Below are some articles publised by Nutrien Equine Standardbreds in regards to Benstud prepared offerings.
Adam Wilkinson who was also our first vendor to enter the Nutrien Standardbred Yearling Sale. He has 2 quality yearlings entered into the sale from the very progressive Fleets Pocket Family.
Adam said “I’m very proud of the 2 colts that I will be selling and believe these will be highly sought-after yearlings.”
Both are beautiful, well conformed colts by leading sires American Ideal and Art Major going back to the very strong Dam line of Fleets Pocket.

Under the capable hands of Benstud is a quality draft of 4 colts and 1 filly, on account of Tony Xerri trading as Sloys Company Pty Ltd. With a long history of selling quality yearlings including the exceptional race horse and Colonial sire Vincent who will again stand at Alabar for the 2020 breeding season being just one horse of note produced by the stud

Adding to the strength of their brood mares are mares such as Luda and Miss Hazel, with other notable names such as Lourdes (Fake Left) 36 wins & $394,000. With progeny winning 41 races from 5 winning progeny and earnings of over $320,000, this colt is not to be missed.
A typey Sweet Lou colt out of the multiple race winning mare Ravishing Girl (Sportswriter) 1.57.1 is already gaining interest with her first foal to race Let’s Get Rockin (Mach Three) already 1 win from 3 starts at 1.59.9.
Their consistent producing mare Jet Girl (Jeremes Jet) is well represented again this year with a well developed Art Major colt. Jet girl a race winner herself has had 3 foals to race, and all to win and in 1.56 or better. Craig Judd from Benstud said “This colt on type is certainly one of the picks of our draft on type and being from this mare family is sure not to disappoint come sale time”.
A daughter of their great mare Miss Hazel, Miss Rocknroll (Rocknroll Hanover) 8 wins for $70,000 at 1.54.9 has produced another interesting Colt, being by Art Major, bred on these powerful mare lines and by the great Art Major will certainly command interest from many buyers.
