Promising mare Delightful Tara, a product of Benstud Standardbreds, posted her seventh win at Penrith on Thursday night (September 12).
After settling down last, the five-year-old circled the field in the middle stages to sit parked. She quickly assumed control at the 400 metre mark and was untroubled to win by 4.7 metres.
She rated 1:58.3 over 1720 metres with the last 800 in a bristling 56.7.
The winner of over $30,000, Delightful Tara is out of the 1:56, $125,000 winning mare Tara Royale NZ, who left three sub 2:00 winners from her first three foals including last season’s classic-winning filly Vena May.
