Shepparton double

Shepparton double

Higherthananeagle and Father Judge, who were impressive winners on Shepparton Cup night (January 12), were both born and raised at Benstud Standardbreds.

Higherthananeagle, bred by Harvey Kaplan, led throughout in a slick 1:54.8 (last 800 in 55.4) to notch his 10th win from 27 starts. He has earned almost $90,000. The talented four-year-old is out of Three Eagles, a very good producer by Falcon Seelster.

Father Judge, who was bred by Brendan and Anne James, rated 1:57.8 over 2190 metres and has now won three races this season. The four-year-old gelding is from the Christian Cullen mare Rebekah NZ, who has left four sub 2:00 winners from five foals of racing age.
