Mona Mia mows em down!

Mona Mia mows em down!

The lightly raced three-year-old filly Mona Mia, who was bred and raised at Benstud Standardbreds, posted her first win at only her third start at Maryborough on Wednesday (May 22).

Starting from inside the back row, the filly sat three deep on the marker pegs before gaining racing room at the 500 metre mark.

Once clear, Mona Mia sprouted wings to nail the leaders in the last few bounds.

She rated 1:57.9 for the 1690 metres with the last 800 in 57.3.

The filly was bred and is owned by a group managed by Rob Auber and is out of the eight-win mare Tayarna Mia, the dam of an earlier winner in Delightful Mia 1:53.6 (8 wins and $35,940 to date).
