Majordan wins in 1:50.2

 

Tough gelding Majordan, who was bred, raised and sold by Benstud Standardbreds, notched his 25th success when he outstayed his rivals in a brilliant 1:50.2 at Menangle on Saturday night (March 9).

 

Starting from the outside gate, the six-year-old was trapped three deep in the early part before working forward to lead the outside division.

 

Despite his torrid passage, Majordan surged to the front half-way down the straight and was untroubled to score by 4.6 metres.

 

He clocked fractions of 26.3, 27.9, 27.5 and 28.5.

 

Majordan now boasts stake earnings of $315,228.

 

He is out of supermum Benelise, the dam of nine winners from 11 foals.
