Exciting win at Cobram
Promising three-year-old Exciter, who was bred, raised and sold by Benstud Standardbreds, made a triumphant return to the racetrack at Cobram on Monday (January 21).
Having his first outing since the Breeders Crown Final in August, the gelding enjoyed the box seat trail behind the leader before being popped the question on straightening.
Exciter finished full of running to prevail in the last stride.
The mile rate of 1:56.8 over 1670 metres was a career-best.
Exciter is the fourth live foal and the fourth winner out of the former smart racemare Mogan Abbey, a $118,000 winning daughter of Aces N Sevens.
Well done Ian Edwards, Keith Cotchin and Ryan Duffy.
