Benstud winner at Bathurst
Promising mare Ichiba Newy, a product of Benstud Standardbreds, unwounded a barnstorming finish to post her fifth lifetime success at Bathurst on Wednesday night (July 3).
After being buried four deep on the marker line, the four-year-old finally saw daylight on the home turn and roared home to win by 3.6 metres.
The mile rate for the 1730 metres was 2:00.3 with the final 800 in 57.8.
Ichiba Newy is the fifth foal and fourth winner of the Albert Albert mare Nosotros.
