Benstud Melton double!

Benstud Melton double!

Brilliant three-year-old Stars Align and smart pacer Majordan, who were both bred by Benstud Standardbreds, won on the same night at Melton on Friday(August 4).

Stars Align overcame a poor barrier draw and a torrid passage to trounce a top field in the $20,000 The Graduate, while Majordan led throughout from the pole to easily defeat his M1 rivals in a 1:58.2 rating.

Despite doing plenty of work, Stars Align rated 1:57.1 over 2240 metres with the last 800 in 56.5

Out of the Albert Albert mare Nosotros, the colt has won 10 of his 19 starts to date and $119,990 in stakes. He has won four of his five Victorian outings.

Majordan, a son of broodmare gem Benelise, has now won 12 races and $93,468.  He has been successful in seven of his season’s 14 starts.

1:59 race winner Benelise has left eight winners from nine foals to race, five in 2:00, three Group 1 winners and two $100,000 earners.
