American Zest tops $50,000
Promising four-year-old American Zest, who was bred and raised at Benstud Standardbreds, took his stake tally to beyond $50,000 and sliced three seconds off his career mark when he won at Melton on Saturday night (May 4).
Starting from the pole, the entire pinged straight to the top and survived challenges at the start and finish to score by a neck.
He rated 1:53.8 over 1720 metres with the last 800 in a slick 55.4.
The winner of nine races, American Zest was bred by our client Harvey Kaplan from the Life Sign mare Flair For Life.
